For the independent traveller, this service allows the freedom to roam and enjoy the beautiful Gibbston wine region at their own pace. This hop-on and off style wine tour is a well-established tour format found in most major cities and wine growing regions around the world. It allows people the freedom to plan their own itinerary and choose where and when they want to go, and even better, at an affordable price.
Your wine adventure takes in an array of winery restaurants and tasting rooms all highlighting our stunning Central Otago Pinot Noir. You will be well entertained with lots of flexibility in transport timings and lots to do such as cheese tasting, walking & bike ride adventures or enjoying a craft beer at the Gibbston Tavern.
Wine Hopper Bus departs from outside The Station Building in central Queenstown at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. Once in the wine region, we circulate the vineyards every 60 minutes throughout the day. Clients are able to return to town whenever they are ready, arriving back at either 1pm, 3pm, 5pm or 6pm.

Enjoy an adventure in the great outdoors with all modes of transport included!
Start your day with a scenic Bike Ride, crossing bridges, passing by historic cottages and enjoy breath taking views over farmland with mountain views.
Once reaching the Gibbston Valley climb on board our Wine Hopper Bus and reward yourself with a wine tasting, cheesery visit or dine at one of the many winery restaurants or pub.
Tour Highlights
Visit Historic Arrowtown which is at the start of your bike trail. Ride along the Arrow and Kawarau Rivers. You cross the historic Kawarau Bridge where you get a close-up view of bungy jumpers at the AJ Hackett Bungy Centre. This is the beginning of Gibbston’s Valley of the Vines. Allowing 2 hours for biking your Wine Hopper Bus guide then meets you at the first winery where you leave your bikes to be picked up.
Your afternoon at the wineries is taken care of with the Wine Hopper Bus shuttling you around the Gibbston wineries at your leisure. We circulate the vineyards every 60 minutes throughout the day. Clients are able to return to town whenever they are ready, arriving back at either 1pm, 3pm, 5pm or 6pm.
Tour Includes
Departure Time: 10am Daily. Tour operates daily, year-round.
Duration: Flexible – from 3hrs to 8hrs.
Clients can decide afternoon return time from wine region whilst on tour- 3pm, 5pm or 6pm
Pick Up Options:The Station Building in central Queenstown (corner of Camp & Shotover Street) or Frankton which is on the main road out of town
Transport: On bus guide. Clients will be picked up in a fully air-conditioned 16-seater or 10-seater vans. Bike sizes range from Extra small to large 23-inch frames

All transport included; both bike & bus
Extra costs, any wine tasting, food and beverage costs be paid by customers directly to wineries.
