Tussock Country Glamping at Glenfellen (near Garston - Southland) offers accommodation with a difference; we work in with a high country station to provide you with a unique luxury camping experience. Close to nature with all the functional benefits of a hotel and the nostalgia of a campsite.

We have also developed 1, 2 and a 3-day packages - see below.


We provide glamorous camping “glamping” in Spacious Yurt Style Lotus Belle Tent (5 meter diameter). Two tents are on the site and each tent can comfortably accommodate up to 5 people.  The beds are Singles or Doubles on real beds which are made up with luxurious sheets and plenty of duvets and blankets.

Guided Overnight (1 night) Hiking trip with a night in our Glamping Tent

Glamping at Welcome Rock Trails offers an overnight trip with a difference, this is a unique luxury camping experience. Close to nature with all the functional benefits of a hotel and the nostalgia of a campsite. This is glamorous camping “glamping” in a spacious yurt style Lotus Belle Tent.
A comfortable bathroom is provided.

Day 1:
•    Transport option: 12 noon - Your guide will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the start of the trail.
•    Self-drive option: 1pm - Meet your guide at the Historic Southland Ski Hut, Nevis Road, Garston.
•    You will be guided to the glamping tent walking approximately 12kms.
•    A snack is provided for you during your walk.
•    Your guide will leave you for the evening
•    Guest to cook their own Dinner – Dinner Barbecue Pack included

Day 2:
•    Cook your own Breakfast Barbecue pack.
•    9am - Your guide will meet you at your glamping tent.
•    You will be guided along the remainder of the trail back to the Historic Southland Ski Hut walking approximately 15kms.
•    Lunch is provided for you during your walk
•    Self-drive: 1pm approximately - Your guide will leave you at your car at the Historic Southland Ski Hut.
•    Transport Option: 2pm approximately - You will be transported back to your accommodation.


2 night Hosted Welcome Rock Glenfellen Farm Package (incl. farm tour and guided trek with Welcome Rock Trails)
Includes:
Day 1:
•    Meet at the Glampsite between 2 and 4 pm
•    Welcome Drink and snack
•    1.5 hr Farm Tour
•    Antipasto Platter New Zealand Cheeses Crackers and Fresh Produce
•    Fully cooked BBQ Meal  Fresh Southland Meats such as Venison Lamb or Beef with in season vegetables and Salads
•    Served with Beverages or choice of Beer, Wine  Juice and Water (Max 1 bottle wine per person and 2 beers more at extra cost)
•    Dessert: Traditional New Zealand treat such as Central Otago Apricot Cake with Yoghurt or Pavlova with fresh local Strawberries
•    Roasting Marshmallows around pit fire

Day 2: Welcome Rock Trails Guided Hike
Includes:
•    Cooked Kiwi BBQ Breakfast with optional Cereal and Milk
•    8.30 am travel to Welcome Rock Trails
•    9.30 am Start Welcome Rock Guided Walk
•    Half Day Option – 5 hours
•    Full Day Option -  8 hours
•    Both options include Lunch sandwich and snacks
•    Half Day tour re meet Tussock Country Host at 2.30pm
Travel back to Glampsite via Garston and Athol
Full Day Tour meet your Tussock Country Host at 5.30pm
•    Canapes and Drinks
•    Cooked Dinner on BBQ
•    Dessert


Additional Day (so 3-day package): Guided Fly Fishing option
Includes:
•    Cooked Kiwi BBQ Breakfast
•    Full day fly fishing with Professional Fishing Guide (drive to Athol at 9 am )
•    Lunch Sandwiches or bacon and egg pie, muffins, slices, fruits, tea and coffee
•    Return to Glamp site around 5.45 pm
•    Canapes and Drinks
•    Cooked Dinner on BBQ; hopefully fresh Trout or Salmon caught by you! 
•    Dessert

3 night self drive hosted Tussock Country Catlins and High Country Sheep Farm hosted stay

Day 1: Dunedin - Catlins
•    Leave Dunedin and Travel on the Southern Scenic Route towards Curio Bay. This spectacular coastal drive is home to sea lions dolphins penguins, golden sand beaches, waterfalls nature walks and stunning views
•    Many Amazing stops along the way: we would recommend Nugget Point Lighthouse, Surat Bay for the Seal Colony, Purakaunui Falls Nature Walk, Cathedral Caves, Niagara Falls Café for refreshments
•    Arrive at Curio Bay Glampsite
•    Welcome Drink and snack
•    Explore the surrounding beautiful area, there is a great child friendly beach nearby and if you are lucky you may spot a yellow eyed penguin or the rare hectors dolphin that often frequent this area
•    Dinner will be cooked and served by your host for you
•    Antipasto Platter which includes New Zealand Cheeses Crackers and Fresh Produce
•    Fully cooked BBQ Meal  Fresh Southland Meats such as Venison Lamb or Beef with in season vegetables and Salads

Day 2: Catlins Glampsite – Glenfellen High Country Glampsite

•    9 am travel the rest of the Southern Scenic Route South to Invercargill calling into Slope Point the most southern point of the South Island
•    Arrive at Bill Richardson Transport World Invercargill Enjoy  lunch and a tour with classic cars trucks a lego  room and wearable art there is something for everyone
•    Travel North on Route 6 to your High country Sheep Station Glampsite passing quaint rural towns as you go
•    Arrive at your glampsite in time for Canapes and Drinks
•    Cooked Dinner on BBQ
•    Dessert

 

Day 3: Glenfellen High Country Glampsite
Includes:
•    Cooked Kiwi BBQ Breakfast
•    Cycle on the new Around the Mountain Cycle Trail and enjoy a picnic lunch delivered to you at a picturesque spot by the river where you could try your hand at fishing.
•     Lunch Sandwiches or bacon and egg pie, muffins, slices, fruits, tea and coffee included.
•    Return to Glamp site for afternoon tea
•    Have a Farm Tour
•    Canapes and Drinks
•    Cooked Dinner on BBQ; hopefully fresh Fish caught by you! 
•    Dessert

Day 4: Departure
•    Cooked Breakfast
•    Depart your glampsite by 11 am
