Owned and operated by the Macdonald family, Middlehurst Station covers 16,500 hectares of the upper Awatere Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand.

 

Nestled within sight of Middlehurst's prominent Mt Lookout, and a short walk from the Awatere Valley’s braided rivers lies The Quarters. An architecturally established 10 room lodge with added luxury. A place where our guests can immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations at Middlehurst Station, should they choose to.

 

Our rooms boast high levels of comfort with luxury linen, underfloor heating, sliding doors to panoramic mountain views, unlimited wifi, books, lawn games and outdoor wood fired hot tubs. 

 

Guests can also experience culinary excellence with our Private Chef services at The Quarters. 

Our Chef creates personalised menus to suit guest dietary requirements. With every dish using produce from Middlehurst Station or local Marlborough and Canterbury growers, guests can immerse themselves in the flavours of the region and celebrate the beauty of fresh, seasonal ingredients with our Farm-to-Table dining experience.

 

Middlehurst Station supplies Merino wool to global brands such as icebreaker and Allbirds. 

Adjacent to The Quarters is the Middlehurst Station woolshed and sheep yards. Engage in the ultimate kiwi experiences, watch shepherds and their team of dogs caring for our Merino sheep, embark on 4x4 tours amongst breathtaking scenery or simply enjoy a walk in the fields away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

2 bedroom Apartment

(rate does not include meals)  The apartment includes the 2 ensuite rooms connecting to a private kitchenette and living area with a smart T.V (different to the main dining room). The apartment wing can be self catering or guests can choose to book the in house chef-prepared meals. Meals are extra (on a per person basis)

The Kitchenette has all cooking utensils and cutlery, whiteware and glasses plus fresh running tap water.

  • Private 4x4 tour to the iconic George hut - an authentic and working musterers hut.
    A 3-4 hour tour includes a packed gourmet lunch beside The Tone river.
